Jackets for Charity!

Hello Folks!

I just wanted to make an announcement as to how my jackets will now be purchased. From now on, when I put up a mosaic on my photostream of a new batch of jackets, the first people to SEND ME AN EMAIL will get the chance to purchase a jacket. If I made 5 jackets, for example, then the first 5 people who email me will get a jacket. If I made 6 jackets, then the first 6 people who email me, will get a jacket, etc. Please do NOT send me fms, or write comments on my flickr photos about wanting to buy a jacket. I only accept emails.

I require that all customers choose a charity from a list that I have suggested and make a $35 donation as payment.  (I will add more to the list in the future after more research on non-profit organizations that speak to me, or that I really like.)  You may also donate $35 to a charity of your choosing if you have a charity that you're very passionate about that is not on my list. There are so many great non-profit organizations out there, and there's no way I could know about all of them.

After you have made a $35 donation to a charity, forward me the invoice that the charity has sent to your email as proof of payment, and I will send you your jacket. If for whatever reason, your full credit card number is written out on the invoice that the charity has sent to your email, you do not have to forward the invoice to me. I will just take your word for it that you have made a donation.  I find that the majority of people in this hobby are pretty honest. (The display of your full credit card number probably won't happen though, since most credit card numbers are "X" ed out except for the last four digits in most invoices).

Now I understand that the logistics of choosing the jacket you want might be tricky to navigate the first few times we do this, and there may be unforeseeable bumps along the way, but I will try to make this as smooth of a process as possible and try to keep everybody happy. For now, I think that the best way to do this is if you're the first to send me an email, you will be first to choose a jacket. The second to send me an email, will be the second to choose a jacket, and so on, and so forth. So it is a "first come first serve" process. If you're one of the last people to send me an email, and there is only one jacket you had your eyes set on and it has already been chosen by someone else, no worries! You are not obligated to buy anything. I will just keep on moving down the list to the next person who has commented =)

Thank you all for visiting my blog and reading this though. I am determined to make this as easy as possible, and I think that a lot of these really great organizations will benefit from the support of our dolly community! I'm feeling very optimistic about this, and I hope whatever contributions we make, both great and small will make a difference in this world. If you're at all confused about this process and how it works, please don't hesitate to send me an email. I have also included the four simple steps in purchasing a dress in one of the tabs above as a summary of this long post. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the process by clicking on the tab.

*This method of payment also applies to those who are on my commissions list.
* I am in no way affiliated with any of these charities listed. I chose these charities, because I have heard of them through media, advertisements, commercials, etc.
